ADMISSION NOTICE FOR GNM COURSE FOR THE SESSION :2023-24
IN SCHOOL OF NURSING , OIL INDIA HOSPIT AL-DULIAJAN
THE DETAILS OF THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA, RESERVATION, ENTRANCE TEST
Applications are invited from interested female candidates of District Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Sivasagar and Charaideo of Assam and Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh for admission in the three years General Nursing and Midwifery Course in the School of Nursing, Oil India Hospital-Duliajan, for the session of 2023-24.
Candidates must fulfill the following criteria:
Marital Status : Only unmarried candidates are eligible to apply.
Age : Must be between 17-25 years on 31 stDecember 2023(Relaxed by 5 years in case of SC/ST and 3 years in case of O.B.C./M.O.B.C and 1 O years for Person with Disability (PWD) candidates.
Educational qualification:
Minimum 10+2 class passed from a recognized board in any stream with English and a minimum aggregate of 40% marks for General candidates (5% relaxation for SC/ST/O.B.C./M.O.B.C/PWD candidates. Preference will be given to candidates passed 10+2 in science stream with Physics, Chemistry, Biology.
Physical Fitness:
Candidates must be physically fit and will be finally selected for admission only after they are declared fit by the OIL medical board.
0ne seat is reserved for orthopedically handicapped(OH) category candidates with loco motor disability to the tune of 40% to 50% of the lower extremity. In case the above seat reserved for categories (OBC/MOBC, SC, ST, PWD (OH) EWS) remains unfilled, then the position shall be filled up by candidate from the unreserved category.
TEST:
The eligible candidates wi!l have lo appear a writtentest. The pass mark in the test is 45 percent tor Gc,neral candidates and 40 percent for SC/ST/O.B.C./M.O.B.C/PWD candidates. The entrance test will comprise of 100 multiple choice questions (MCQ) and shall be set from the course of class X covering (a) General knowledge, General awareness, Popular Science- 25 marks (b) General English- 25 marks (c) General Mathematics- 25 (d) General Science-25.
The duration of the test will be 02.00 hours and total marks will be 100.The questions will be in English language. The candidates who qualify in the written test will be considered for selection on provisional basis based on merit in the written test. Provisionally selected candidates will have to appear before a Board for original document verification and medical examination.
If two or more candidates securing the same marks in the entrance examination, the merit list of such candidates shall be determined in accordance with internal policy as mentioned below:
- The candidates will be called for medical examination and admission on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance examination for admission in GNM Course.
- The candidates will be examined by a medical board/officer of OIL Hospital - Duliajan for assessing the medical fitness for pursuing the Course. If the candidate is found medically fit then only the candidate will be considered for admission in the course.
- In case two or more candidates attains equal marks in the entrance test conducted for GNM Admission, then candidates scoring higher marks in Science Section in the Entrance test will get the higher rank.
- In case the score in the Science Section and the total score of two candidates are same, then 1 0+ 2 percentage in aggregate will be considered and candidate attaining higher percentage in 1 0+ 2 will get the higher rank.
- In case the total marks in Entrance test, Science section marks in Entrance test and 1 0+ 2 percentage are same, then the candidate with Science stream will be given preference.
- In case two or more candidates from science stream obtaining similar marks in Entrance test, Science section and aggregate percentage in 1 0+ 2 are same then the candidate scoring higher marks in Biology in 10+ 2 examination will get the higher rank.
- In case two or more candidates secure equal scores in all the above aspects, then candidate securing higher aggregate score in class -X will be given higher rank.
- In case two or more candidates fulfilling all the above mentioned criteria, the candidate senior in age (as per DOB) will be given preference
E) STIPEND : Stipend will be paid as per norms of the School of Nursing.
F) Other facilities : Students will be provided with uniform and medical benefits as available in OIL Hospital during the course and their study period. Hostel accommodation will be provided to students. During one year compulsory post qualified certificate training hostel accommodation will be provided as per the availability.
G) No T AIDA will be paid to the candidates for appearing in the written test and for attending the document verification and medical examination board.
H) The authority reserves the right to cancel the entire process of selection at its discretion without assigning any reason thereof.
I)Candidates once admitted in the GNM course will not be permitted to pursue or continue any other course of studies simultaneously and will automatically forfeit the GNM seat if they do so.
J) Candidates need to write their address correctly and in case any discrepancy arises between their declaration of address in the application forms of the candidates and their Permanent Resident certificate then the address mentioned in their respective PRCs (uploaded) will be considered final.

Online application must be filled up after carefully going through instructions given along with the form in the website.
