ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR PPEARING IN THE ENTRANCE TEST:
Candidates must pass the Qualifying Examination (10+2) and must clear English, Physics,
Chemistry and Mathematics with Biology or Biotechnology in one seating with 50% aggregate
marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics for General Category. However, there will be a
relaxation of 5% to SC/ST candidates. The Applicant must have a valid Permanent Resident
Certificate (PRC) of Assam issued by the competent authority.
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR APPLICANTS-
Applicants seeking admission under Differently Abled, Son/Daughter of permanent in service
Employees of Gauhati University, Son/Daughter of Ex-Employees of Gauhati University,
Son/Daughter of Ex-Defence Personnel, Fringe Village, NCC/NSS, Extra-curricular & Cocurricular Activities, etc. must apply online and take a printout of the Application Form after
submitting it online. The printed copy of the Application Form must be submitted with all
required testimonials duly self-attested to Room No.-14, Office of the Secretary, University
Classes, Gauhati University, Gopinath Bardoloi Nagar, Guwahati-781014, Assam in person or
by post on or before June 15, 2023.
ESSENTIAL POINTS TO BE NOTED
- Applicants are required to apply online ONLY.
- Each applicant must scan his/her photograph and signature, ensuring that both the
photograph and signature comply with the required specifications as mentioned in the
upload section of the online application process.
- Signature in CAPITAL LETTERS will NOT be accepted.
- Keep all the necessary details/documents/certificates ready for the documents upload
section and a successful online payment of the application fee is required to submit an
online Application Form.
- Applicants must have a valid personal email ID and contact number, which should be kept
active till the completion of this admission process. Under no circumstances, he/she
should share/mention e-mail ID to/of any other person. In case an applicant does not
have a valid personal e-mail ID, he/she should create his/her new e-mail ID before
applying online and must maintain that email account.

5. No change to the information filled by the applicants will be possible/accepted after the final submission of the Application Form.
APPLICATION FEE : At the time of application fee of Rs. 1,000/- (Rupees One Thousand only) is to
be paid online.

HOW TO PAY THE APPLICATION FEE ONLINE:
Candidates have the option of making the payment of the application fee through the ONLINE
MODE as other modes of payment will not be accepted. The payment can be made by using Debit
Cards (Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), Credit Cards, and Internet Banking/UPI. The fee once paid is
non-refundable.
After successfully completing the online application process, candidates
need to print and keep their payment e-receipt and filled-up online application form
for future reference. However, the applicants seeking reservations under other
categories must submit the printed copy of their application form along with other
necessary documents to the office of the Secretary, University Classes, G.U. as
stated in the important instructions for applicants seeking reservations under other
categories.
All applicants are advised to follow the eligibility criteria before filling up the online
admission form. Students are also advised to keep visiting the University website (www.gauhati.ac.in) from
time to time to know about any change of policy and dates that may occur, if and when required.
